From Montreux to Paris!
Thank you for your prayers and support! We are about halfway through this outreach with the Asia Pacific All Generations DTS team that we are staffing.The experience of our first four weeks has had our family growing and stretching in so many ways. Late nights, public transport and leading not one but two teams on top of our DTS students provided challenges, but God's grace is still sufficient in every way and for every situation.
First: Montreux Jazz Festival, Switzerland
It amazes me how much God shows up every time. Before arriving in Switzerland, Jeff was asked to lead the Bible Distribution "stream," which was made up of members from our team and others, whose primary focus was to hand out free Bibles.During the outreach event, over 575 bibles were given out to attendees!
It surprised us how many people we were meeting from the Middle East. Some were there by choice, but others were also refugees who now call Switzerland home. Cheri became friends with a family from Saudi Arabia, and had the opportunity to sit with them nearly every night for a week. They also brought many Muslim friends back with them again & again!
Kid Highlights
Daniel and Isaac loved so many things! Because the event centered around performances, there were many acts that had both kids enthralled with their new friends: acrobatics, unicycles, juggling and dancing.
Daniel had his face painted on the second day with a Dinosaur... which lead to nightly face painting visits to his new Korean friends.One of the stations was for the many children whose parents were attending the festival, to open up opportunities for conversations about Jesus while the kids were happily playing.No, Jeff couldn't resist matching the boys one evening...
Even Isaac got in on the Bible Distribution! He tried his best to hand a New Testament to the performer pictured behind him, but he wasn't ready to receive one yet.
Isaac did eventually achieve success - he handed one to a woman we met on the train ride home, late one night after the show! She ended up curiously opening and even began reading it before we had left the train car.
During our two weeks in Montreux:
537 People were prayed for
575+ Bibles were handed out
800+ Gospel conversations were had
6 confirmed physical healings
25 Received Jesus for the first time!!!
GOD IS SO GOOD!
