For the last 4 years, I have taken a team to Konawaena High School to livestream their football games. When I first was asked to do this I discovered that the community gathers around the High School. When I saw this for the first time I knew I needed to commit to helping in any way possible. This has turned into being the crew that livestreams almost every home game for the last 4 years.

This has been great but, I have been dreaming. I have been dreaming of opening up the team to include students from the school. The hardest part has been the faithfulness. To become part of the hawaiian family isn’t easy. Short term cycles have worn thin the community. Teachers, Doctors, Tourist and more, come for a short time and then, just as suddenly as they arrived, leave. This constant cycle has created a callous that can be difficult to break through. The good news is, its not impossible. With a bit of grit and showing up day after day, year after year, the relationship grows and the doors open.

Well, over the last 2 weeks, I finally have direct interest and connections with both teachers and principals to be able to begin offering the opportunity to students. We don’t have a game for another month. I need this door and these connections open for that month. This year the school has had 3 teachers in this role making maintaining relationship difficult.

I keep trying to write but but time and time again, I get side-tracked and by the time I return the content feels irrelevant. The transition to the platform beehiiv should mean that I can add additional and historical content in a place where you can find it.

It is not well put together yet. Over the next few weeks I will be slowly workign on it along with adding more content.
