Ready, Set, Change

Just as we thought we had everything set…it all is changing again! Last time we messaged we were awaiting the arrival of our third child and we were headed back to France. Now, we have had our third child, and France has changed all of their restrictions repeatedly throughout the month, even at once preventing even us with our residency visas from traveling.

But then - it’s fun to see how the Lord moves. :)

A few weeks ago we had begun to feel that it was time to position ourselves to move again. At the time we just thought that it would be to return home to France, but then we were contacted by the base we would be returning to and they told us that they didn’t have peace anymore about us joining their team. It was a bit strange, but they also explained that they had a large team that they needed to house (and they have VERY limited space on base) and were going to have too much going on this quarter to bring us on as new staff.

By now however I am a bit beyond being disappointed. God always seems to move most powerfully in the unexpected.

Despite these things, we still had a feeling we needed to prepare to go within the coming few weeks… which leads us to last week. Out of the blue, some friends from YWAM Kona called us. And they invited us to come back to Kona for a short season. There are having some major issues with audio visual systems and the man who would normally help with these things has been out with COVID complications for past last year.

As we prayed about this opportunity, we have felt an incredible excitement over it. Since COVID has started one of the big difficulties is that not everyone is always allowed to meet in one place this is causing a need for flexible video distribution between several locations on the campus. On top of that there seem to be dozes of little things that just need fixing or adjustment and we have the capability to adjust and fix some of these issues quickly and easily. We don’t yet fully know the scope of what we will be doing out there, but the leadership team is doing everything they can to arrange us arriving ASAP!

We are currently trying to be in Kona the 8th of February or earlier. As soon as they can confirm that we have a room ready for us on base, we will GO!

Meet Amelia!

She was born December 3rd and has been such a joy already! And boy are we grateful that she was born in the US. Cheri had lots of health issues leading right up to her birth, and she came much earlier than anticipated! Mama and baby are now both healthy and ready for adventure. :)

So while things seem to be fairly uncertain and everything apparently keeps changing on us, there is something that continues to remain remarkably the same. That is our ability and desire to come alongside leaders and lift their hands for a season. It is something that has not changed even while being back in Colorado.

Somehow God lines it up for us to provide relief to ministry leaders in moments where they need it in order for their ministries to thrive. I will send more out about this soon but it is so much fun to see what the Lord is doing across the world even in the midst of the pandemic and what appears to be incredible uncertainty.

The plan as it stands at this point

  • Go to YWAM Kona to help facilitate all of their ministries

  • Adjust to doing life and ministry as a family of FIVE!

  • Continue seeking direction about which location to make our next home in France

So please be praying for…

  • Grace in flights and the entire transition for our family moving again

  • Wisdom for Cheri in which ministries to jump into in Kona (given new baby plus two other children responsibilities)

  • That doors in France open up where the Lord wants us to be

  • That the Lord would lead us to where we can be effective in serving both 1 - the staff where we are and 2 - the people we are called to reach out to

We love you all and very much appreciate your prayers, words and support. We could not do this without you!

All our love, the Willeckes
